The 2026 General Education Meeting was a strong entry in our long line of conferences. This year PWCF returned to the Bay Area for the first time since 2019. Over 60 parents, professionals and caregivers showed up to learn from some of the top professionals in the Prader-Willi syndrome community including Dr. Jessica Duis, Lisa Graziano and Dr. Daniela Rubin. Each presenter approached a different aspect of living with PWS and many families appreciated the diversity of topics in this collection of presentations. The Youth and Adult program was a success as well. We had over 15 kids and adults with PWS jamming the night away with karaoke and other activities. The theme for this year was a Glow Party and our kiddos definitely enjoyed themselves some glow in the dark arts and crafts as well as some temporary tattoos!
We look forward to our conference every year, not just for the presentations but for the connections made. Hearing from families that they have ongoing struggles with understanding benefits and how to maneuver them is heartbreaking but then they come to the conference and have the opportunity to speak to an expert one-on-one. This provides a sense of clarity that they were only able to get from coming to the event. Little examples like these happen all the time and it continues to reinforce the idea that conferences are a special place and no matter what the challenges are, it is always worth it to have an in-person conference.
Interested in attending next year? We will return in 2027 with a Southern California location!
Dates will be announced early next year.
