We are taking a new approach to support groups in 2021. So that our families have the opportunity to share experiences and exchange information with others whose children are in the same stages, we will now host our quarterly meetings by age groups virtually on zoom. We will also provide a simultaneous zoom activity for your child or adult to participate in so they are safely entertained while you attend the meeting. These groups are facilitated by Emily Dame, M.Ed., Executive Director, and Lisa Graziano, M.A., Former Executive Director. They are open for anyone in the state to attend. 

The regular meetings of the San Francisco area support group will continue to meet virtually with the help of Support for Families of Children with Disabilities in San Francisco. See more information below. 

2021 Meeting Dates:
January 6, April 7, July 7, October 6

Meeting Times:
Ages 0 to 3: 10:00 – 11:00 AM

School Age (Ages 4 – 22): 12:00 – 1:00 PM

Adulthood (Ages 17 and Older): 5:00 – 6:00 PM



Ages 0 – 3: This group includes all families who have an infant or toddler with PWS. We will cover topics such as feeding, G-tubes and NG-tubes, supplements, growth hormone, and early intervention therapies like feeding therapy, OT, and PT.   

School Age: This group includes all ages of children 4 – 22 who are in the school system. Topics discussed may include behavior inside the home and at school, IEP’s, OT, PT, Speech Therapy, other related school services, IHSS, nutrition, high school transition programs, and social skills.

Adulthood: This group is for parents of adults and those approaching adulthood ages 17 and older. Topics may include behavior, residential placement, conservatorship, special needs trusts and wills, employment and day programs.

San Francisco Area Support Group: This group includes all ages of children and adults living in San Francisco and surrounding areas. Anyone in Northern California is welcome to attend.
